SUMMARY
As the High Performance Computing (HPC) Analyst, you will report to the IT Director of the Advanced Technology Information Services team. On this team you will have the opportunity to lead innovative IT solutions to improve the productivity of the engineering and scientific communities across the Company. This will include capturing & analyzing customer needs to shape concepts, driving standards, conducting benchmarking, delivering pilots/proof-of-concepts, and developing programs/projects to productize services/offerings. The HPC Analyst will have oversight for the operations and availability of the cleared HPC environment; systems administration; project implementation; implementation of standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be responsible for day to day oversight for the operations and availability of the cleared HPC environment at the Company. You will also be responsible for select systems administration, project implementation and to assist in the implementation of global standards at the direction of the HPC Program Manager.
As an HPC Analyst, you will:
Oversee the operation and provide hands on assistance for the HPC environment supporting US Government Classified work.
Work with the HPC Principal Technologist and global HPC counterparts to ensure standard technologies and processes are established and used.
Lead project teams to extend the capabilities of the existing tools and to perform service upgrades as necessary.
Collaborate with other members of the ITMS team to ensure the availability of the appropriate software, storage and network capacity to ensure effective utilization of the HPC environment.
Actively participate in the HPC program, including strategic goals and objective planning and execution.
COMPETENCIES/ABILITIES
Bachelors degree with at least 5 years systems administration experience.
Experience with enterprise class networking and storage.
Experience supporting computational fluid dynamics, finite element analysis or similar engineering software in a medium to large organization.
Experience designing, deploying, and supporting global IT systems
Due to the nature of the work done at this organization this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Secret Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship.
Desired Characteristics
Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or related technology discipline
Proven experience working in an enterprise High Performance Computing or Supercomputing environment.
Experience with job schedulers.
Experience with MPI or similar distributed computing methodologies.
Experience working with the Ansys suite of engineering software.
Experience with Redhat Enterprise Linux
Six Sigma Greenbelt or similar quality management program certification.
Technical depth and experience
Rigor in designing and executing technology evaluations.
CISSP or Security + certification preferred.
Active Secret Security Clearance.
Experience and effectiveness in working across geographic and business boundaries.
Experience in supporting the specific needs of Engineering and Research oriented customers
Strong analytical thinking and strategic problem-solving skills.
Self motivated, with demonstrated success in leading change, both systems and culture
Team player with strong communication and facilitation skills.
