  • Pulsewave Myotron (hehe)

Does anyone remember these things? An infomercial I saw in the 1990s, I still remember it to this day, because it was insanely written. Very "gonna get ya!" style.

Supposedly, this thing was made for the FBI. Contact "stun gun," with a pulsed wave. Sandia National Labs said that the claim that the device "interfered with neural impulses from the brain to the body" was unsubstaniated, but alot of court systems and federal agencies were buying a black version. The normal Myotron came in... pink.

Anyone know if this was a predecessor of the M26 Taser, or something along those lines? We know that Tasers will lock people's muscles up. The Myrotron claimed to do it, then had some wonderful claims about "knocking an aggressor on their rear," etc.

They had the former President of Colt Firearms come on, and denounce firearms as "dangerous devices that breed violence," stating that the "safe" Myotron dosen't breed violence.

Supposedly, you can still buy them, the things are made in Taiwan.

Not exactly. I did see a program on the History Channel that showed devices that caused intense vertigo and severe nausea, thereby incapacitating the threat. I wouldn't mind that instead of firearms.

Ahh.. those nausea/vertigo things are used for crowd control in some places.... nasty, nasty things... They look kind of like a regular speaker, but man... You don't want to be on the receiving end of them... lol

And how! I can't speak for other people, but severe nausea and emesis incapacitates me to the point were I don't even have the strength to stand up, let alone resist.
