Just a quick note on the market of portable surveillance systems. As you can see by the picture below portable systems have increased technologically since the standard pole-cam systems.

The current technologies in the fields of thermal optics and radar are increasing dramatically. With analytics and GIS systems being part of the common operating picture they are increasing the system abilities as well as the users understanding of the area. Add to that the ability through wireless mesh networks to deliver the information quickly and uninterupted.

A problem faced by many Municipalities and Government agencies is interoperability of voice communications between different agencies during an emergency. With VOIP and interoperability radios incorporated into such systems the units are well adapted for emergency management as well.

Since there has been an increase in the municipal wireless markets, these systems have also seen an increase in sales for Law Enforcement and Homeland Security type organisations.

(Note: The system below is made to be removed from the truck and placed on a trailer or vice-versa in less than 30 minutes)

What systems have you seen organisations and Municipalities use?

I would be betting much on those outriggers. They don't look strong enough to me.

Believe it or not the outriggers worked great. They were only temporary for a demonstration while the auto-leveling system came in.

What happens in a high wind, are there stays to keep the whole thing from falling over?

The mast itself is wind tested to 150mph on a static platform. The truck or trailer systems are stabilized with outriggers in high wind situations. The weight is well distributed throughout the system to add to the stability. That system also folds down when not in use to secure the components when in transit.

                PM sent...

The system has a payload capacity of 450 lbs. We have 7 meter and 9 meter versions. The wind load testing was done with a 10 sq. ft. sail area and 450 lbs. load.

Here is a picture of the same system installed on a military light tactical trailer for you extreme off roaders.

Actually they are used worldwide for various reasons.
                    1. Border security
                    2. Port and harbor security.
                    3. Military force protection.
                    4. Construction sites.
                    5. Large area corporate facilities.
                    6. High value asset security, i.e. power plants, etc.
