Hello all! I was wondering if anyone has a standard for the number of camera views per screen? I've generally seen anywhere from 9-16 views up on the same screen but I'm wondering if there is a better way to figure a suggested quantity... Any thoughts?

Perhaps I am being a bit too simplistic in my thoughts here, but I think it depends on the size screen that you are using. -
Jim's on the right track. It depends on what you need from what you are looking at. If you are just looking for movement, then you can have a bunch of small screens - you aren't looking for detail. On the other hand, if you need to see what's going on in a certain area and see detail (type, color and license plate of a car, or a good look at an intruder), you have to go bigger.
I don't know that there is any formula per se, but I'd say for a standard size monitor you don't want to go over 4 screens if you're trying to see normal details. You can also split the screens so you have one large image and then 6 or more smaller images around it. For example, if your main entrance is your big concern, you make that one the largest image and make the others smaller.
If you have a good enough camera system & space, I'd recommend a large screen that you can tie to another monitor. When you need a large image so you can see all you need, you can put the image you want on it and still have use of the other monitor.Comment
