HAHAHA! These people are why security officers must wear square badges in NY and CT and cannot wear any badges in DC. It's just silly. There is a big difference between trying to look professional and straight up trying to trick citizens into believing you (or your company) are something you are not.

Those "houston Harris" guys are some of the worst. Guess where they got their uniform colors from:

          Harris County Sheriff's Office:

The "Houston Harris" guys in Dallas don't wear the Houston Sheriff's Office style uniform, they just wear navy blue. But the patch looks just like the Dallas County Sheriff's (but says "security" in small letters).

Not impressed by the Houston Harris guys in Dallas, straight warm body op. Never heard of the others, but found an article:

Those Houston Harris uniforms are blatantly trying to mislead the public into thinking that they are Sheriff's Deputies.

I agree with the earlier poster that there is a big difference between looking professional and outright trickery.

I know of several folks that work in Blue Moon Investigations. I heard it's a great company and many of them go into law enforcement. The pay is fairly typical for contract security, but the career opportunities are plentiful.

Kind of pathetic this and another poster representing a "dissed" co. on the forum have just discovered these old threads. But I'm inspired now - I'm going to go find that kid that called me names in the first grade and set him stright right now!

Jeez. I thought I was bad about pulling out a shovel. Digging that up must have required a backhoe, or some voodoo necromancing magic!

The city of Houston has "Downtown Rangers" that do security patrol mainly on bikes, but this is a city job.
