I've run into many "crazy" security guards in my day. By the way....I'm moving this to the proper forum.

Ummm... OC on a cop that showed you his badge? Imagination is a wonderful thing. Have I seen cops and/or security officers do crazy stuff? Yup. Heard lots of stories over the years, too. This takes the prize, though.

Closing isn't closed. Unless he attempted to use force against you, which you didn't mention btw, you were wrong to use OC. You said you had a partner, why didn't you simply inform this police officer that he was trespassing, that you were calling local LE and escort him to the front door with your partner?

I am sure that when you need some back up, that officer and his buddies well be sure to get there in a hurry. Pepper spray a cop, and your boss is ok with that?

And it wasn't that he wanted to stay in the mall, he just didn't like security guards telling him what to do. Don't know what mall this took place at, but are you absolutely sure every store, restaurant, movie house that provided access from the mall was closed?

I still smell BS. 2 Security against 1 Police. No mention of the Police Officer being violent yet pepper spray was used on him? I'd love to see the use of force laws on you planet.

I don't know any Police Officer who would not have had you arrested for assault if the event went down the way you say it did. On my planet you can "use the force necessary" to remove a trespasser. I can't see how pepper spray was necessary when there were 2 of you.
