  • Guy Lombardo and his Royal Candians

When wishing in the New Years was a good time from the Waldorf Astoria
I will not wish in the New Year's with the world's oldest teenager
    90 year old Dick Clark.

To all in Canada. You lost the very best when Guy Lombardo passed away

copelandamuffy I agree. Lombardo gave class to New Year's Eve. All that is on now is so much bad fluff. This might have to do with age, I start my 72d year.
Enjoy the day and the start of 2008,

We often get footage of around the globe and once saw Guy Lombardo on cable tv - this bloke seemed to ad some magic to your NYE. Sad to say that Dick Clark is getting older and again there will be some magic lost when he passes on. Here we just watch the fireworks from the harbour and it sets off the cheers and indicates NYE to NY.

Happy NYE all from all us in Sydney Australia.

I was pretty disgusted with the hosts on the networks and the cable networks ringing in the New Year's. Dick Clark is in pretty bad shape

And my wife and I watched the New Year's eve in the comfort of our living room.

What fool would want to be in Times Square surronded by thousands of the human masses. My Dad once said Times Square on New Year's Eve is a pickpocket's holiday.

Boston does something similar to New York City on New Year's Eve.
It is called 1st night. Close to a million people cram along the waterfront to see fireworks. We had on the police scanner tuned to the Subway/Transist
police in Boston. Fights and stabbings galore on subway cars. Now you know why we stay home on New Years.
