the worst camouflage

Who knows what lies in the minds of the US Gov't and the upper echelons of the military. But I can tell you that the BDU style uniform is welcome. I don't know anyone who likes dungarees. The bell bottoms were to big, the patch pockets near worthless and a pain to get anything out of the front. You couldn't wear them off the base. And you looked like a prisoner.

Why the camo, in that color? Well, who knows. Personally, for shipboard wear, I think just a blue bdu would be fine. They say they are trying to get one standard working uniform for different applications. But that's not realistic. What you wear in urban, desert, and forest regions will vary the uniform. And I can't think of anywhere that the blue camo would fit in much.

On Military.com they posted an article about a vest that projects via three optic lens on your back what is behind you. So if you are standing in a field anyone that is looking for you would see basically through you. Apparently the human brain would not see what it is looking for and therefore you would become invisible to an enemy soldier. Last I knew it is still in R&D at Natick labs.

Ah, yes...Harry Potter's Cloak of Invisibility. I've read different articles, some saying that it works and others that it doesn't. I think it would be better for all of us if it doesn't work. I think it would provide more advantage to bad guys than to good guys, IMHO, although intuitively you'd think it would be the same.

Well, in any case it doesn't offer IR/thermal invisibility so at least that's good.

hands down, the worst camo is the US Navy's new uniforms. It's to hip hop pop culture, and looks like some kid picked it up at the mall. But then again, the CNO lost his mind when he redesigned all of the navy uniforms. Not happy that they look like marines now, but out of some pride for themselves, how would anyone want to wear that stuff??

I'm not knocking the benefits of the new, just saying if you're properly camoflaged in the right environment, you can be overlooked, even in daylight at a short distance. Obviously it's going to be much more difficult to hide in plain sight in an urban environment, regardless of camo type.

The old BDU woodland doesnt work well with infrared and Night vision , with the digital camo it harder to see someone with infrared or nvg

If you're right on top of the guy, I don't care what kind of camo he has on, you're going to notice the guy standing there. But at 500-600 meters out, the pixels will blend together in a way that appears less artificial than the old camo patterns.

I've seen guys hiding 30 feet away that you wouldn't notice. Until they moved anyway. That was with the old camo, some shrub branches and face paint. So I respectfully disagree.

Digital Camouflage is designed to defeat optically enhanced or standard human eyes (which sense movement) from long ranges. The pixel design works well when dealing with an enemy who is looking through NVGs from several hundred meters out, or conventional optics.

Alright, how the heck did you find that website.

Anyway, it might be a money thing, you know, get the most for your latvian dollar.

I base that on the photo's all appear to be of only one guy in uniform, so maybe the other three guys in their army had the day off when the photos were taken.

OR, maybe worse, they took the old U.S. ARMY slogan, "an army of one," a little to far.

May be bennificial on snowey places with lotsa brush, but that s about it. However if sold as a fashion like some cammo patterns are, you'll fit in great with a bunch of 16-22 year olds LOL.

I think the new digital camouflage of the Latvian army is the worst multi environment camouflage , maybe in urban or deset it work good but in wooded area like Latvia is not work well , this camo is more worst then the famous ACU of the Us army
