Davis002 - are people still trying to sneak by the barricades? I was reading about it in the paper and they were talking about it on KQ. It’s just extremely frustrating, there is enough to worry about w/out people coming down to see the tragedy. Thanks for being down at the scene to keep the emergency personal safe so they can continue their recovery efforts.
When I first arrived shortly after the collapse it was a constant problem (everyone had to take a picture with their camera phone!), but those problems were greatly reduced when MnDOT rapidly erected those metal "road closed" barricades and jersey barriers.

Right now, our function is traffic/crowd control. I first arrived roughly 20-25 minutes after the collapse, and the only way I can describe it... total chaos. The air was full of smoke from the fire(s). Agencies from all over the state were responding. I have some pictures, but wont be able to upload them until I get some free time. I will update as I get the time, but I suspect I will be busy for awhile.

Quebec has had problem with highway overpasses falling down with a few people being killed. (Like the UPS truck incident in the US yesterday) Our problem is the salt used in the winter attacks the steel in the cement. Last week the provincial government issued a list of 137 overpasses they were worried about. Yesterday the City of Montreal issued a list of 9 in the city proper.

I know that HCMC is having a "bad night" right now, and sgtnewby is probably up to his eyeballs in wounded and frightened people that they have to protect.

I think that SecureForce's Search and Rescue team was deployed to the area, but haven't heard from Davis002 yet.

This will probably be a very long night.
What a tragedy! I hope all those you mentioned are alright and pray for all those involved.
