To get your 3rd molar removed (wisdom tooth) i swear it doesnt, only cost me a day off work and a 170.00 dollar bill, and getting poked at with sharp little objects, actually it wasnt bad at all, the worst part was when he was appling pressure when pulling and you hear the grind of the pull, then the bleeding after was horrid after. But my mouth now feels 100 percent better

[QUOTE=Bern Wheaton;34906] Use salt water to wash it out,
yup thats part of the after care instructions i was given, the best part was for the first hour or so sticking the gauze pieces in my mouth to suck up some of the blood, that was fun, spitting up blood and bloody guaze pieces, the tooth i kept but naw it doesnt go under the pillow. however i was curious as to how it smelled, and smelt it.... lolIts not how we die that counts.....

glad to hear. I had to get all my wisdom teeth out about six months ago... they were all impacted under the gum. I was put the sleep(well halfway) for this surgery because the dentist said it'll be to painful without being put under.
anyway that day I felt fine, I just slept all day. The next day fine. Day three pain. Day four allot of pain. I felt pain from my bottom left wisdom tooth to my chin. it was killing me and the vicodon wasn't doing anything. I went back to the dentist and he said I had a dry socket. To fix it, he stuffed some kind of medication into the socket (worse pain I felt in my life) to close it up. Just wanted to share my story with you all.

I had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled when I was at Camp Shelby last year; Went to a clinic in Hattiesburg, they gave me a shot/IV of some kinda southern voodoo stuff, and next thing I know, I wake up an hour later scatterbrained and talking like Don Corleone...
Upside was, It was all done on Uncle Sam's dime, I got 24 hours no duty, and Ibuprofen 800mg every 6 hours or so (kinda not a good idea to drive an M1 Abrams on them kind of meds)...“Two wrongs don't make a right, but three rights make a left”

As for tooth extractions... good Dentists will numb the gum with a novocaine (or similar) gel prior to injecting a local anesthetic"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give" - Winston Churchill

I can relate with Flashlightcop. I too had 4 wisdom teeth removed, first they gave me the gas (best part), then the IV, had me count backwards. After reaching somewhere between 98 and 96, I woke up buzzed out, even while walking the floor felt soft and my chest also hurt.
Cost me a lot as I had to pay.I'm the guy you don't want to be around when your doing something wrong, but you can't wait for me to get there when your down, to fix you up...
