  • Losing hope about society (and security)...

Every day its something new - a mass shooting, a gruesome murder or some politician caught with his hands in the cookie jar or his pants down (or both). I think the pandemic seriously messed this country up more than we know - especially the kids. I'm seeing more and more crime, and it is because you can get away with it.

If a cop even catches you, you won't go to jail for a non-violent crime, you'll just be booked and released. Your trial won't be for a year or two in a clogged court system; the prosecutor may decide to drop the charges because his office is overwhelmed and understaffed. If you do appear before a judge, just plead that you're mentally ill, have an addiction or are just poor and homeless. Judge will put you in a diversion program, which you can decide if you want to show up for or not. If you don't show up, you might get caught again. Lather, rinse and repeat three or four more times, and then a judge might sent you to jail.

My opinion? If you've been arrested 40 times, you are an enemy of society and clearly not interested in fixing your problems or changing your behavior. I've encountered criminals in Seattle that have been in and out of the system for 15 years or more - still walking the streets, still doing crimes. Why?

I'd do more good being a janitor - at least I could see real results at the end of the day...

DO NOT GIVE UP!! This is what the bad people want you to do, as well as the Media, and Academia, and crooked politicians
They want to control you, because they know better, and you do not

DO NOT LET THEM DO THIS I know you CG in private emails
You are a fighter, and in a bar room fight I want you

Thanks, Cope. I'm seeing bad things on the horizon. I also see that the security industry (on the lower end) isn't going to change. The places that can afford it will use the latest technology as a force multiplier, and hire ex-military and ex-cops to do the jobs requiring a human. Everybody else will just make do with lazy slobs looking for an easy paycheck, or move if they can. (One example is Chicago, where businesses continue moving out. Seattle will lose Amazon within five or six years if they can't restore some law and order to the downtown core. Amazon is quietly leasing space in neighboring cities.)

In a bit of synchronicity to renew my faith, I ran into a homeless vet last week that I met a couple of years ago. He's clean and sober, has housing and is much better. We have to take a two prong approach - people who want a second (or even third) chance get one. People who want to threaten others or steal their way through life should get long prison sentences.

Neither of those things will happen if people listen to leaders who make false promises and keep putting them back in office.
