I was always told that Cali gas is so expensive due to emissions additives. Is that the true reason? Is it regional?

This is intended for the Guards in the Seattle area.
Why is gas so much more on the West Coast?
In downtown Seattle this past May
if memory serves me right it was about $3.30 a gallon for a rental car my wife and I had on a Friday
Over night flight back to Boston and at a Shell station the next day about $3.00 a gallon
That's a 30 cent a gallon difference boys and girls.
Gas at Shell, Mobil, Exxon is about $2.05 a gallon on this January 30th
in Metro Boston.
What are the prices out in the Seattle area today??

Gas is still $2.39 here in the West Chester, PA area. Greedy b-----ds. You fill in the blanks. Some places in Philadelphia are about $2.05.

What HotelSecurity said, minus the Crevier, plus MacEwan.
Prices are another matter.http://www.ottawagasprices.com/
3.8 litres to 1 US gallon
I also pumped gas during high school. The Canadian dollar was worth more than the US dollar then, making trips to the New York bars even cheaper.

I had never heard of kangaroo either, untill recently. Before the stations became Kangaroo they were called Cowboys. I was not familiar with Cowboys prior to them opening up here in town. Still don't know much about them but they are here and elsewhere.

Gasoline Stations
Just wondering the brands of Gasoline Stations in your home town?
In the Boston area:
GULF-HESS-MOBIL-EXXON-SHELL-SUNOCO-CITGO
Actually Mobil and Exxon are one in the same
I'd add Texaco but they were ovetaken by SHELL.
30 years ago; WE had
GULF-GETTY-CHEVRON-SUNOCO-SHELL-SINCLAIR-TEXACO-CITGO-MOBIL-JENNEY-ATLANTIC { WHICH BECAME ARCO}-ESSO {WHICH BECAME EXXON}-CONOCO-PHILLIPS
While in Seattle this past May, I recall buying Gas at a UNION 76.
Marathon and Husky and Standard are in the Mid-West???
IRVING AND ESSO ARE IN CANADA ??
Down South Diamond Shamrock??
I worked in High School at a Sinclair and SUNOCO gas station
The pumps were built by TOKEM of Toledo, Ohio.
In order to clear the pumps back to zero, you had to hand
crank them on the side
Back in the 1960s and the Muscle cars
{ Mustangs- Cameros-Plymouth Barriacudas}
they used high permormance Sunoco 260 gasoline
Biker used them as well
I was 17 at the time and one hot summer afternoon
about 10 Hell's Angels Bikers pulled into the Sunoco
Station. I allowed them to pump their own gas.
They were very polite and courteous toward me,
and even gave me a small tip.
Summers working in the Sinclair Station and Sunoco
station were great. We were about 2 miles from
an amusement park called Paragon Park, and Nantasket Beach
About 15 miles south of Boston
What was great is the girls who would come in
in their bikinis and ask to fill their cars with
gas. It made the hot summer afternoons fly by.
Myself and my buddy who worked with me, were always
trying to get dates with these lovely ladies
About every 20,000 vehicle we would get lucky and have a date with themLast edited by copelandamuffy; 01-27-2007, 11:15 AM.Tags: None
