That's actually harder than you think. It requires linking in the aspell library, and hacking vBulletin to check it. In English: This can increase server load and possibly make the site slower.

LOL, OMG, type of "words" seen on text pages and messenger would slow down the internet if a spell checker was in place

I have cheated (not today)and did my diatribe in MS Word then did the old copy and paste.

I spend at least an hour the first shift of my week correcting reports written by someof my guys before I send them to management. In Quebec if your parents did not go to English school (with a few other exceptions) you MUST go to French school. A lot of my Officers have lived in English but were forced to go to French school. They think in English & therefore write in English but they don't have the skills

Bigdog21 gave my AIM to someone who IMed me. One of his former subordinates.

Within 3 minutes, he was blocked due to my wanting to pull my hair out. I finally told him that I do not understand what he is typing, and he typed correctly. Then, next phrase, was right back to that insane typing. I swear he was just beating the keys with his tounge.

It's not an intrinsic part of the server app, and as Nathan points out, would require my IT guys to hack it (which creates problems with updates).

So, for now, please use your natural spelling abilities and use the "edit" button to make fixes. If you're really concerned about correct spelling, use online functions like www.dictionary.com or PC tools like MS Word.
