That's the scary part because are senses naturally direct us towards the source, whatever it may be.

    Neutralizing Security 1st priority

Something to keep in mind my friends is whenever the badfolks want to do something the security HAS to be neutralized.

This means defeating alarms, surveillance, sensors or security personel.
If the things being defeated are electronic or mechanical you can still go home after your shift but what I want to talk about is you the security officer.

A hard cold fact I learned a long time ago (1970s) going thru bodyguard/driver training while in the US Navy was that I, yes I would be the first target hit in either a kidnapping or assassination attempt. Why? Because with me out of the way the car was stopped and the prime target was not defended. That needless to say got my full undivided attention.

That brief statement has stayed with me the rest of my life and I plan on continuing to LIVE by it.

This also applies to othe areas of security. True you may not be attacked with intent to kill but you may be maimed or at least disabled enough to no longer be able to work.

On the job be observant, be alert, be cautious. Remember that things are not always what they appear. The "strange noises", "loud crash" may be the actual act but they could also be decoys to draw you into a dangerous area.

Remember also that sometimes if you PO someone bad enough they may try to get even while you are not on duty.

    Get home alive and well.
