Attacked While Calling in Fight

A security guard responded to the sounds of three men fighting, according to the account of his son, and tried to place an emergency phone call while standing in front of a security camera. He did not get to complete the call before being attacked. Part of the attack was filmed.

That's why I love these days of having a cheap cell phone. I would not want to be anywhere near a fight if I was just going to call it in and retreat. That's not possible if you have to go to a nearby phone that is connected to a wall.

It reminds me of my first hotel. No cell phones in those days & we didn't have walkie-talkies. We had pagers. When paged we had to search for a Housephone. If we needed help, good luck!

bugger that i always carry 2 mobile phones in case the 1st one doesnt work.and if i have to ring the police i always tell them who i am and where i work in case i get cut off before telling them what i need them for.i wasnt very impressed with one junior constable that could clearly hear in the background that i was not able to talk as i had a girl that was very loudly threatening me.she wanted to know my last name,where else i worked how long i had been doing security, i ended up hanging up on her and dealing with the pscho young lady.

In all the stupid things I've been asked by a dispatcher, "how long have you been working security" and "where else do I work" have never come up. That information isn't relevant to the call.

that was my thoughts exactly . i got called to a fight where one girl had another in a headlock punching the crap out of her.as i had been to that area and gone somewhere else i did not see them fighting until the girl getting hit had fled to her car.i observed this girl kicking a car in the carpark and the girl in the car almost hitting this girl on her way out i called the police at this point as i knew how it was going to go from the start.whilst on the phone this girl decided to say things like if you ring the police on me im gonna drop you ect(dulled it down slightly).i had already had a bad day and this girl decided to tell me that she had just been released from the mental hospital and i dont want to mess with her.when i said to her the day ive had mess with me please and started walking towards her she took off running out the mall doors and up the street.it turns out she thought i was the crazy person.

In a society where people are expected to not become involved, attempting to involve yourself will usually scare the other person into fear. This is something I've encountered a lot. "I'm gonna beat the ---- out of you," was one that I loved, because I would usually start walking, while going, "You have exactly the time it takes me to get near you to get off this property," as the ASP was extended. They would usually turn tail and run. If they didn't, I was prepared to open chest push them off the property.

One very important thing is never issue a command or threat that your not prepared to back up. Running up to someone doing that, and then just standing there like a goof loses all credibility. Walking up to someone and then delivering a chest push, or an escort hold confirms that you will use physical force to ensure compliance.
