  • Widow Gets Settlement in 2000 Slaying

    New Haven, Conn.:
The widow of Paul Kelsey, a 61 year old security guard who was killed by a drunk driver while directing parking lot traffic in 2000, was awarded a $1.6 million settlement, 6 years after the offense happened.

"We appreciate all the hard work you've done, the dedicated hours you have worked, and the lives you have saved. However, since this is your third time being late to work, we are terminating your employment here."

Good to see she finally got something, I remember that incident well. Also I believe at the time the Oakdale security folks were special constables to allow them to do traffic in the street. Its a shame it takes 6 years for something like this to be settled.
Old age and treachery will defeat youth and enthusiasm every time-
