HARTSDALE - Two shoplifters struck a Marshalls security guard with their car last night in a thwarted get-away attempt, police said.

Police said the pair - a man and woman - knocked the guard over with their 2000 Dodge Intrepid as he was trying to get their plate number as they fled the 221 N. Central Ave. clothing store at 6:20 p.m.

The guard was not seriously injured, police said, and was able to describe the car. Police have not released any information on him.

Car stops were immediately begun police said, and Kathleen Higgens, 24, of Brooklyn and Raymond Duncan, 25, from the Bronx were arrested.

They have been charged with first-degree robbery, a felony.
