Ski Day Security Guard Attacked
Friday, Aug 15, 2008 @04:38pm CST
Working security at ski day turned out to be a long night for one Evansville man. While on the job, he says he was attacked by two men and hit in the face with a two-by-four.
Now the Henderson sheriff's department is asking witnesses to come forward.
David Mullen has worked security for the event for the past four years, and has always enjoyed it--but this year, things took a turn for the worse
Around 4:00 Sunday morning, he told a young man to get away from the stage--and that's when things got out of hand.
The man and a friend attacked Mullen, then ran off, leaving him with a broken jaw, a black eye and no way to call for help. Four hours late Mullen was able to get off the island and to a hospital. He jaw had to be wired shut, and will remain that way for about 3 months.
Mullen has worked security for Ski Day for four years, and has never experienced any problems until now.
He says he was the sole security guard on the island Saturday night, and feels security needs beefing up.
The Henderson Sheriff's Department is now investigating the incident, and ask anyone with information about the alleged assailants to come forward.
The suspects are described as 2 white males between the age of 18 and 21.
One is about 5'6 and weighs 200 lbs. He has brown hair and was wearing yellow shorts.
The other also has brown hair and was wearing blue shorts.
