VANDALIA, Ohio -- Security personnel allegedly spotted two young men trying to steal DVDs from a Kroger store in Vandalia. The two men ran out of the store with the disks Thursday morning, police said.
Police said security guards surrounded their SUV and had a short conversation with one of the men.
As a security guard approached the driver-side door, the driver allegedly put the vehicle in reverse, police said. They said at that point, the security guard’s coat got caught in the door. Police said he was dragged down the road for a short distance.
Officers said the two men were last seen driving towards Interstate 75 from the Kroger parking lot.
The vehicle was described as a red sport utility vehicle with the Ohio license plate DQQ9874.
Police said the robbers were two white men in their 20’s. One is 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, and the other is 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches in height.
Police said the two men face charges of robbery.
