KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Police say a Kansas City security guard fatally shot a shoplifting suspect who had stabbed him.
The guard's stab wounds were not considered life-threatening. The incident happened about 8:40 last night.
The guard was on duty at a grocery store when he saw a man trying to steal.
When the suspect fled, the guard chased him about two blocks. Police say the suspect stabbed the guard in the upper body, and the guard fired his gun wounding the suspect.
The suspect was pronounced dead at a hospital. Kansas City police did not immediately release the suspect and guard's names.
