Yuri Sergeyev, a local security guard is taking civil action against WBA heavyweight champion boxer Nikolai Valuyev after the boxer allegedly beat him severely and hospitalized him after being approached regarding a parking violation. Criminal prosecutors refused to bring forth criminal proceedings. Sergeyev and his lawyer are now trying to pursue the matter in a civil suit. The boxer denies criminal culpability for the act.
