Security Guard Shot At Twice In One Night

    UPDATED: 8:55 am CST November 30, 2007

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A Kansas City security guard drove himself to the hospital with a bullet wound after escaping a gunman twice overnight, police said.

The security guard was on his way home after work, he said, when he was grazed on his head by a bullet as he drove near East 31st Street and Cleveland Avenue.

He drove on, looking for help, police said.

The gunman apparently followed, according to police. More gunshots rang out near 71 Highway and Troost Avenue.

It is unclear whether the security guard was hit again.

He drove himself to the hospital, where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are investigating whether the security guard and the shooter were acquaintances. No suspects are in custody.

The Security Officer was a target even on his way home. It so very important to know who is around you at all times. Just because you are off, doesn't mean you are safe by any means. Vary your routes home and to work.

heh, any chance he was written up for leaving his post before being relieved?
