(November 12, 2007)--A Brinks armored truck guard was shot late Monday morning during a robbery in Miami Lakes, Fla.
The shooting happened during a robbery at a Miami Lakes service station in what police believe was the third armored car robbery in three days, and police are looking for a car with two possible suspects.
Miami-Dade police say the wounded Brinks guard was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
His name and the extent of his injuries were not immediately known.
Police say there were two male robbers, wearing ski masks, who were seen leaving the area in a silver Dodge Magnum wagon.
There have been so many armored truck robberies in the Miami area that Brinks had an unmarked security car following the truck that was robbed.
The guard in that car told police he thinks he might have shot and wounded one of the suspects.
The silver car was later found with bullet holes in it.
The suspects are still at large.
A Dunbar armored truck was robbed Saturday while making a pickup at a Miami dollar store.
And on Sunday, another Brinks truck was robbed during a pickup at an FYE entertainment store in Pembroke Pines.
No shots were fired in either of those robberies.
