SCHERTZ, Texas -- Schertz police said someone was shot to death early Monday morning at an Internet gaming facility at 500 Schertz Parkway.

At about 3:20 a.m. on Monday, Schertz police were called to the facility for a shooting.

Police said the shooting was the result of an apparent robbery.

They said three men entered the business and demanded money. Police said at some point, one of the robbers pistol-whipped a customer in the back of the head.

According to police, one of the robbers fired several shots and hit security guard Stewart Edelman, 44.

Paramedics rushed Edelman to Brooke Army Medical Center, where Edelman was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The other man was treated for a head injury and released, police said.

Friends said Edelman would be remembered as someone with the biggest heart who opened his home to friends in need and gave money to homeless people.

Schertz police said they are still looking for the three men who left the scene in a dark black or blue four-door car.
