Unfamiliar with American Inn. Most likely not armed. I know for a fact that it takes permission from the Vice President of Operations of any Hilton chain to be armed. Budget Suites of America has an armed in-house security dept. They are expected to proactively prevent and intervene with crime; however, a higher priority is given to non-security related duties such as performing maintenance, picking up trash, and doing janitorial duties.
