  • Homeless man attacks security guard in Yonkers

YONKERS - A security guard at a commercial building in Yonkers was assaulted early this morning by a homeless man, police said.

About 4:11 a.m. Jason Jackson, 32, assaulted the guard in a lower-level bathroom at 1 Executive Blvd., said Lt. David Komar. Jackson was arrested at the scene, he said.

The guard's name was not released, but Komar said he was taken to Saint Joseph's Hospital in Yonkers and released after treatment for a swollen left eye and abrasions.

It's unclear what motivated the assault, but since nothing was taken from the victim, police do not believe it was a robbery attempt.

Police did not have any information about the charges brought against Jackson, nor his next court appearance date.
