Security Technicians generally oversee a guard shift of a combined team of security officers anywhere from 20-30 sub-contracted Third Country Nationals (TCN) and Host Country Nationals (HCN) personnel. They assist Security Coordinators with force protection and law enforcement liaison. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Preliminary data collection in support of formal inquiries; providing regular security reports to KBR personnel on site. Assisting with the conduct of force protection planning to include collecting the data for Threat Vulnerability assessments, Convoy and Escort missions, making security recommendations based upon threat data pertaining to the PPE posture. Enforces all aspects of Security and FP policy. Review and evaluate FP enhancements at all sites to ensure compliance with theater requirements. Serve as the FP monitor and program adherence for security leadership. Advise site management and immediate supervisors of progress of FP enhancements and issues inhibiting programmed completion. Must have knowledge of force protection procedures and practices. High school diploma with some college preferred with at least 4 years work experience. Must have at least 2 years of leadership experience. Must be able to develop and implement physical and electronic security recommendations. Must have four (4) to five (5) years experience conducting formal inquiries regarding fraud & loss or any criminal act or violations. Must have knowledge of basic interview and investigative techniques and written reports as related to security incidents. Must be able to provide written & oral briefing information to senior management. Must have the ability to give security education and instructional presentations. Must be able to articulate with little guidance the security mission to site management and coordinate with the client and other government agencies to include host nation agencies. Must have knowledge of TVAs, security overview, attack profiles, threat analysis, loss prevention, physical security, information security programs, personal security, and basic escorting missions. Supports and facilitates the security department local force protection posture and program. Controls access to Living Support Areas (LSAs) by performing identification checks and registering visitors, vendors, and deliveries entering and exiting a given area of responsibility. Performs physical security inspections and operations security (OPSEC) checks as part of the regular duty. On order, Security Officer may be required to participate in supervised searches for prohibited items. Serves as an escort officer for personnel and materials movements. Assists with preparation of Threat Vulnerability Assessments on KBR facilities. Performs other duties as assigned. Must be a US citizen having held a secret security clearance within the last two years. Proficient in the use of PCs; Microsoft applications, word processing, spreadsheets, desktop applications and database.
