    TITLE: Director Public Safety & Security
    LOCATION: Baltimore City, Maryland
    CLIENT: Maryland Stadium Authority
    REPORTS TO: Executive Director

    SUMMARY

    This position will be the senior leader accountable for the direction and management of the safety and security operations in behalf of employees, visitors, vendors, event attendees and contractors. The program areas supported include public safety, crime prevention, fire suppression and prevention, emergency medical services, access control and guard force operations, special event security, response protocols and regulatory compliance, risk assessment and management, crisis management, investigations, and coordination with external agencies, organizations and elected officials.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Ensure that Camden Yards meet the highest standards for safety & security of the facilities and all who enjoy them.
    2. Establish service and staffing levels; monitor and evaluate the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of personnel and programs in alignment with the strategic objectives of the stadium authority.
    3. Identify opportunities for improvement; direct and implement changes.
    4. Establish protocols to respond to, resolve and report on citizen inquiries and complaints related to the functions areas of responsibility.
    5. Serve as the agency’s representative on safety and security issues to committees, community organizations, boards, and professional groups.
    6. Establish the public relations functions of the department as they pertain to public awareness, citizen inquiries, inter-agency cooperation and effectiveness.
    7. Maintain liaison with government agencies, law enforcement, fire / emergency and medical agencies.
    8. Stay current with best practices, legal and regulatory issues that affect department operations.
    9. Establish and maintain documentation and reporting systems pertaining to departmental activities.
    10. Develop and implement training programs for the department areas of responsibility.
    11. Ensure that all loss and safety incidents involving residents are thoroughly investigated.
    12. Establish emergency and crisis management guidelines and protocols.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

    At least 15 years combined experience with a major law enforcement, intelligence, public or private sector corporate security organization.

    At least 5-10 years of direct experience in a significant leadership role.
