Is that considered private investigation work, or security? In most of the states I know, if you're carrying concealed or are not wearing a uniform - you're a private investigator.

Nope, still security. Just HAVE to keep a company ID on you as well as your Guard Card and Pistol Permit at all times.

                Silent key holder

The Class B uniform is the regular everyday duty uniform here. The Class A uniform is only worn on formal occasions. So far, I have only worn my Class uniform twice; once when I was sworn in and once when I participated in the ceremonies for Police Officer's Memorial Day last week.

The Class C uniform is worn only for training, and not for regular duty.

okay with out further ado... i give you my companies uniform and name :P

here is me and some shots of our unis, and our radio :P

:P as you can see our radios are on a repeater system, its the old 400mhz that the agencies out here used to use, we have our radios programed for every county that we service, so if in another county it would say like davis service, davis car/car, davis tactical, davis main. each county has all 4 channels on them, so Salt lake county also has car/car, service, main, tactical too. as you see our badges are custom:P

well any way how do you all like our unis ?

there is only one other agency in the state that uses the dark grey shirts, and they are a correctional facility in southern utah, according to Uniforms West who supplies about 90 % of the leo agencies out here, and about 75 % of the security companies, others order for galls and etc.....

                    and yes im fugly

(see post number two wont let me put 7 pics in one thread )

We have two types of security guards on Kwaj; Access Control Officers and Constables. Constables are more like traditional "observe and report" security guards in the States. They have no arrest authority and only carry a radio.

Access Control Officers are still non-sworn security, but they work at the airport and at the dock screening passengers, luggage, and cargo. ACO's are allowed to detain violators , but cannot arrest them. ACO's can also issue citations for violations of the base rules and regulations, but not for criminal offenses. The uniforms for ACO's and Constables are:

                        Access Control Officers

Blue polo shirt with "Access Control" in white letters on the back
Silver "Access Control Officer" embroidered badge on the breast
                        Black BDU-type shorts
                        White Socks
                        Black "Bates" quarter boots

ACO's carry radios, ASP batons, and pepper spray. They do not carry firearms.

                        Constables:

Tan polo shirt with "Constable" in black letters on the back
Silver "Constable" embroidered badge on the breast
                        Black BDU-type shorts
                        White socks
                        Black "Bates" quarter boots

                        Constables only carry radios

Ok, I hate to rain on your parade, buuuuttttt..... the black on black on black will make your guys look exactly like Carthage College S/O's. If you already knew that, sorry. I do like the cloth rank on the sleeves, but hey, I'm an ex-Airman, thats my style. I like the PSG collar brass, its orginal for this area. Any thoughts on heavy weight or mid weight coats for winter and fall? I wish we had a mid weight jacket at my site, the winter coat is too much for this time of year, but its still dang cold on 2nd shift after the sun goes down.

If we're blue/blue, then we're KPD. Light blue? RPD. Black/Black is the most inoffensive color we could think of for all three states.

But, we also have 4.5" shoulder patches. I don't think anyone is going to confuse us, locally.

Yeah, actually. They're expensive, though. 5.11's 5-in-1 system. For the heavier winter, we wear everything. Right now, remove the vest and inner jacket and wear the outer coat.
