More Drug-Related Deaths Reported In Wayne County
Officials Said Three More People Died
Wayne County officials have reported more than a dozen people have died from mixing the drug fentanyl with illegal drugs over the past four days.
From September to March, there were 106 confirmed drug deaths in Wayne County. Officials believe a majority of the deaths were caused from combining fentanyl and heroin.
The drug fentanyl is usually prescribed to patients who are suffering moderate to severe pain, including cancer patients. The drug can be injected, used as a patch or taken orally, Local 4 reported.
"It's a very serious drug. It is considered to be 80 times more potent than morphine," said Mark Lutz, a Beaumont Hospital Pharmacist.
I don't know if anyone else is encountering this problem but its a MAJOR problem in the Detroit area. 19 dead just in the last 7 days from this cocktail mixture of Fentanyl and other drugs.
Every night on the news they find more and more dead from this mess. Last night they found 3 dead in a car. All were teens ages 17-19
