  • Hospital Security Finds Abandoned Newborn

    Houston, TX:
Security working at a hospital found a newborn baby abandoned in the hospital in an Easter basket. The child was treated and is being prepared for adoption. No criminal investigation is under way due to the "Baby Moses" law which exempts a parent from prosecution for abandonment if the child is under 60 days old and is brought to a hospital or licensed child placement agency.

Although it is a sad story, at least the baby wasn't discarded in a trash bin. Hopefully, a good home will be found with loving parents.
Security: Freedom from fear; danger; safe; a feeling of well-being. (Webster's)
