  • Whisteblower at Nuclear Facility Calls NRC Report BS

A security guard at a nuclear facility who filed complaints about deficiencies in training and in structural security called the downplaying of certain problems in an NRC report as "bullsh**". Details here.

"We appreciate all the hard work you've done, the dedicated hours you have worked, and the lives you have saved. However, since this is your third time being late to work, we are terminating your employment here."

Isn't wonderful how major deficencies are overlooked, just because of the almighty dollar? Not to get off topic, but the facility I'm assigned at is definantley lacking in the "security" part. For a company that does business with the US Army to the tune of over 3 million dollars a year you'd think that they would be cognisant of the fact that they are a terroism target (not to mention that they are located in probably the worst part of town). I know a few guards who work at a Nuc. Site here in WI and its pretty much a joke. I thought that working at a Nuc. site would actually be a pretty squared away job, but I guess I was just in awe of the pro's I've seen that worked for the Nevada DOE.

Please to be telling me that the nuke plant your referring to is to the NORTH of us, and not the south of us.

Yeah its North of us, but there is one being built as we speak VERY close to us. Close enough that if anything were to happen my offspring would probably have 3 arms. The company I work for has the account there.
