Well, we are in the heart of tourist/crime town right now so we normally have atleast 3 officers minimum per shift (2 total at the gates and 1 patrolling and taking calls). We will soon have 4 per shift if we are decently underbudget at the end of the month. With my last 7 months as 3rd shift supervisor, I can seriously say we need atleast 4 people per shift, especially at night as we have to do housekeeping and maintenance too. It's starting to get rough around here and it's always nice to have someone to back you up when dealing with drunks, 911 calls, and when approaching vehciles that have blown through a security booth.

Just the other day we had a Hummer H3 (huge chrome rims, glossy black paint, HEAVY tint all around on the windows) and he didn't feel like stopping and went straight to the lobby. I looked into it with my boss and we located the car, parked in the middle of the drop off/loading area blocking traffic, but no driver to be found. Right then I got a call because some idiot went through one of the fire doors and I had to reset the doors alarm. Right when I came back to find the driver again, he saw me approaching his H3, started the engine, and took off like a bat out of hell almost hitting someone else when taking the corner.

728 rooms and plenty of ground to cover while on patrol (Front lobby, bar, giftshop, game room, restaurant, mini grocery store, 2 pools, washer/dryer facilities, parking lots, etc.)

edit: Also, we have a mix of fences and walls along the entire exterior of the hotel property which helps force people to exit/enter through the area of the guard booths.

We have Security Booths at both entrances and are in the process of (FINALLY!) getting gate arms to help stop traffic as we have recently had ever increasing issues with people running the booths and attempting to commit crimes or just not paying attnetion and trying to cut through the property and then realizing they can't once one of our SO's on patrol stops them.

The one issue we have is that there is not enough parking anymore when we sell out. The hotel property is over 30 years old if I remember correctly, and the parking lot has stayed the same. They really need to expand or make a parking garage though. Plenty of extra room to the south (large patch of grass between our fence and the gas station) but people complain so much just having to walk more than 10 seconds between their room and where they park.

The whole thing except for the reservations, where we have to get certified and get permission from the Chiefs to follow up on complaints and such.

Well I've mainly been working two little locations, one is a healthy food grocery store (as in, can you spell VEGAN and ORGANIC ,) and, a filthy rich, small H.O.A., where the cheapest residence is worth several million bucks.

It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it.

My other site isn't on the map yet. I'm posting this in a wide area view so you can see why we have such a homeless problem. Lots of area for them to camp along the river. And to the SW a little is Loaves and Fishes.

Our little piece of Texas . . .

Four hospitals (totaling +1200 beds), six medical office buildings, three large parking garages, two large off campus surface parking areas, healthcare system executive offices, main hospital administration building, skywalk and an underground tunnel. If your looking at the map exclude the blue square in the middle, that is another hospital systems facility.
