Idaho Security ?

So im inquiring rather doing some market research, with the possibility of expansion into Idaho once i get my company up and running, i have tried to do some research on licensing in idaho, i can only find that cities license security their, however i can not find anything in regard to the states citizens arrest powers, security guard laws, or if security is considered privated police there, like in some of the unregulated states.

ARREST, BY WHOM AND HOW MADE

19-601. ARREST DEFINED. An arrest is taking a person into custody in a
case and in the manner authorized by law. An arrest may be made by a peace
officer or by a private person.
19-604. WHEN PRIVATE PERSON MAY ARREST. A private person may arrest
another:
1. For a public offense committed or attempted in his presence.
2. When the person arrested has committed a felony, although not in his
presence.
3. When a felony has been in fact committed, and he has reasonable cause
for believing the person arrested to have committed it.

19-613. WEAPONS MAY BE TAKEN. Any person making an arrest may take from
the person arrested all offensive weapons which he may have about his person,
and must deliver them to the magistrate before whom he is taken.

19-611. BREAKING DOORS AND WINDOWS. To make an arrest, if the offense is
a felony, a private person, if any public offense, a peace officer, may break
open the door or window of the house in which the person to be arrested is, or
in which there is reasonable ground for believing him to be, after having
demanded admittance and explained the purpose for which admittance is desired.


19-614. DUTY OF PRIVATE PERSON MAKING ARREST. A private person who has
arrested another for the commission of a public offense must, without
unnecessary delay, take the person arrested before a magistrate, or deliver
him to a peace officer.

I thought you were moving to Missouri. Didn't you post something about that last summer?

yes those plans changed, we decide denver would be better for us, although my husband owns 5 acres of land in donaphin, the ecomics of missouri just arent really there :P so we want to stay in the rocky mountian region where everything is more economical more jobs, thus bigger market to sell company in :P

The first order of business is to do well right where you are, of course. For most small businesses, it makes the most economic sense to be sure that they've sucked all the juice out of the orange they've got before they pick up another orange. The cost of developing - and serving - a new client in the area where you're already established is ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE lower than the cost of developing and serving a new client in a new territory.

"Expansion" isn't just a matter of deciding to go after a different set of clients who happen to be located elsewhere. The closest comparison is opening a brand new business from scratch. You need financing, a business plan, market research (and not the type you'll get from this forum), and all the other things you would need to start a brand new business. Only well-established companies that can self-finance their expansion (= a lot of money they can afford to LOSE) or that can expand by acquisition can "short-circuit" this startup process somewhat. The fact that you're already in business in Colorado will make no difference to your startup process in Idaho.

The red flag for me is the phrase "once I get my business up and running". My advice is to do that, and only that, for now. It will demand your full attention. Evaluate expansion possibilities in the future at that point in time; anything you might learn about business conditions or possibilities in Idaho now can change radically by the time you're in any position or have reason to expand.
