LOL, here's an Utah Trooper using the dual taser technique because the citizen was trying to explain something after initially refusing to sign the ticket.

    Different results:
    - No knee with body weight crushing the neck immediatley after the dual tases,
    - No soccer team of officers holding the man's limbs which would make it easier to crush the neck and pop the skull off the atlas, and
    - No death.

However, the man fell backwards helplessly after the initial taser, and could have had a severe concussion if hit head on a concrete surface or a granite curb sharp corner edge.

I wonder if the elementary school crossing guards are going to get these babies soon? To tell you the truth, I'd like to go on a tase rage right now. It looks like a good way to reduce anxieties without any chance of hurting yourself.

That was ridiculous! That cop should've TACKLED that guy into the lane of traffic, and wrestled with him!

      Oh, wait...

Well, maybe he should've OC'd him and let him wander out into traffic, screaming and tearing at his eyes!

      Oh, wait...

      Baton?

No, Amnesty In'tl would have kittens.

He should've let him get back in the truck and maybe retrieve a weapon, so they could shoot it out, John Wayne style!

      Oh, wait...

Hell, he should've let him just get back in the truck and drive away, right? I mean, no harm, no foul...Who needs to obey commands from a cop anyhow, and that's good pursuit material! No one would get hurt if he just let the cop chase him for a few miles!

      Oh, wait...

BTW, the full video is on Youtube for our viewing pleasure, and if you watch carefully, you can see it looks like the person who posted it (the tasee) edited it.

That stupid cop should've tried to catch the guy after he TASEd him! Right after filling out a medical history questionaire on the guy (Any history of heart problems? Are you on drugs? Etc...), right? "No officer, no history of medical problems, and no drugs onboard. Now I'm going to walk away from you and head for my vehicle, whilst ignoring your commands and putting my hand back in my pocket! Pig!"

While you posted this in a tounge in cheek manner, anyone with any sense would get the picture. REALITY is king.

It's the question that everyone in this kind of work asks: "what do you think I should have done?". And the answer is always some civilian flower child give-peace-a-chance BS. I swear, the ignorance that jumps out whenever a Taser is involved is stunning.

My vote is for all of us (cops or not) to go back to the good old days of nothing but guns and wooden batons and feet and fists like in the 70s (compare the nukmbers of police shootings today to that in the 70s and you'll see what I mean, I've had a web page about it somewhere, gotta find it). After the inevitable increase in police shootings and injuries to officers and offenders, I'd bet money that the anti-Taser/Pepper spray will scream "why did you stop using tasers and pepper spray!!!!" lol.

ddog, do you have an understanding of how the device works? You keep saying "dual taser," and only one weapon was deployed. The word "dual," by definition, means "two."

There was only one device at the scene. You keep saying that "two tasers were used" in these incidents at the "same time," but again, I don't see any evidence of this.

Did the trooper warn the motorist that he would go to jail if he didn't sign the citation?

Why would he? It's his duty as a citizen to know the law before he breaks it (ignorace of the law is no excuse in Utah or anywhere else I know of except in certain situtions, and this wasn't one of them See here).

You can tell by the video the guy was trying to play the roadside lawyer. NO, the officer doesn't have to let you see the speeding sign you blew past, NO the officer doesn't have to let you see the radar unit and NO (this one from the video) the officer doesn't have to read you any rights when he arrests you unless he's planning on questioning you about something where you may end up incriminating yourself.

And no, you don't have to warn anyone that they will be arrested for breaking the law (like not signing a citation, your signature is your "exchange" for not being dragged in front of a judge right this instant lol), that's something people should know.

In a way. Not only does the taser keep the cop from hurting himself, but now it keeps him from saying a few extra words: just pull the trigger twice and watch them flop to the ground helplessly

SO... your security and LE classes said to taser a victim with dual 50K V lasers in 1 second intervals and immediately crush their neck with weight centered on knee within 5 seconds while several officers hold the victim stretched out?

My, sounds like overly zealous instructors who don't have a clue as to the results and looking for tail end of a law suit.

... of course I could be proven wrong on YouTube repeatedly for all times if ONE person would dare try this 'ultimate' jackass stunt

I was only refering to the knee to the back of the neck, as I have not been trained in tasers. I don't see how an electric shock, at the level of a taser, could damage the spine. Until the State of California authorizes them we will not get them. Currently they have a "we don't have an opinion" stance and that creates to much liability.

I also want to question your use of the term "Dual Tasers". Where is this mysterious second taser? Was it fired from the grassy knoll, perhaps?

This guy in this recent Taser incident is even stupider than I thought.

He says he thought the Taser was a gun. So a cop pulls what he thinks is a gun and his response? Walk away? Brilliant.

The guy did not seem dull to me. If he walks away with a half million dollars from law suits, book rights, etc... he will appear brighter than the average bear, Boo Boo. Humiliated in front of his simultaneously threatened wife. That's got to be a lifetime bummer right there worth a quarter of a million by itself.

He knew the cop would not shoot him with a pistol for no apparent aggressive actions. I would have thought he would not have been tasered as well, but it must be aweful satisfying to taser someone, evidently. When around police, I'm hyperactive as well, but I know just to shut up and accept I screwed up in most cases. But if in the right, I may try to explain my point of view. But maybe not anymore with taser happy LE.

Maybe the best thing to do is have a light duty taser proof conceiled body armor, and have my own conceiled taser gun for self defense (do a fake twisting curl-up, draw, and shoot from under arm pit, lol). Of course no body weight behind a knee to the neck follow-up move which is extreme for anyone, but no hurry to catch the officer flopping to the ground either, as per the officer alone's actions (pop, flop, and pop again for the principle).

If you guys don't mind being popped by a taser twice by these Jugheads, more power to you. On the average, they are not the sharpest pencils in the stack. Everyone has their pluses and minuses, but this easy street justice needs some significant tuning, training, and/or complete reengineering for Safety. There is no crime to small and no actions too subdued to expect NOT to get tasered. No matter how sheepish acting you are, there may be a 19 year old with a twitchy taser trigger finger saying, "Make my day...Make my day...Make my day..." until he sees something subjectively worthy of squeezing the trigger.

The driver caused all his own problems, he should apologize to his wife for being a tool, for speeding (putting her in and their unborn child in danger, speed limits exist for a reason), for not signing the ticket and for putting her in further danger by forcing a physical confrontation with a State Trooper (by resisting arrest).

But then, that would be taking personal responsibility. Can't do that, now can we?

He knew the cop would not shoot him with a pistol for no apparent aggressive actions.
BS. The worst thing you can do in life is make assumptions. This guy is an idiot and the video proves it.

                              ROTFLMAO

People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. I always find it funny when someone in private security (where a kid can walk in off the street and 4 hours later be employed, thats what I didn't when I was 20 , 4 hours and I was an SO) criticizes people in law enforcement. Talk about hypocritical.

Well, that was the most paranoid pile of BS I've ever read, and that's saying something. The guy was resisting a lawful arrest (he didn't get "tasered for speeding" like the media likes to say, those idiots) and had a control devices applied to him. Seconds later he was fine, unlike what he would have been in a fist fight with the officer, unlike how he would have been after pepper sprayed, no one injured, mission accomplished, and you fined a problem with that?

Figures. Some people will find fault in others (especially others in whose shoes they've never walked) because of their own misconceptions and biases. Ok, you don't like cops, thats cool, but that dislike doesn't change reality. And the reality is the Utah Trooper's actions were legal and reasonable to prevent an escape or further escalation of the incident.

As in all encounters, the offender called the shots by his actions. The Trooper didn't make him speed, didn't make him further resist the law by refusing to sign a court summons and didn't make the guy resist arrest (by trying to walk away). All of what the offender did was stupid, but of course, it's the trooper's (and his tool's) fault.

Real simple, don't want to get tased, follow the law. And if you can't understand that, it's probably a good thing for all of us that you confine yourself to Professional Warm body work....

Now I understand your Caesar name and degrating women whenever you have a chance: you have a "little man's" complex and are trying forever to show how much of a man you are, lol. Just send a YouTube clip of you getting tased twice in a row and helplessly flopping to the ground. Then the world at that point would admit you are truely a man.
