They'll probably just create a subsidary or sub-contract.

So it sounds like they got shot and and returned fire... Note to the Iraqis when you hear guns going off, don't go about your day as normal, find cover and duck.

I also like how the article states that the powers that be in Iraq, "think" it was Blackwater.

Does the Iraqi government even have what it takes to throw Blackwater out?

The article said they can't be brought to trial.

Like most news articles, there is not enough information to make an informed decision here.

if the US doesn't honor their decree:
            1. what could the Iraqi gov't do about it?
            2. would the populace lose any respect for their powerless government they might have had?
            3. Would the US be finally seen as invaders by more than just insurgents.

If the US does honor the decree:
            1. would a small subsidary or subcontract be used to put blackwater people back in- Much like Wakenhut has done with US military bases?

2.Would the Iraqis want EVERY merc out, not just BW?

Strange. I've not heard of the Iraqie Government condeming the Talley Band and kicking 'them' outta the country. And according to the news media the Talley Band have killed a lot of innocent civilians.

The Taliban (means "The Students" IIRC) is the Islamic Group/Party (former Mujahadeen fighters who fought the Soviets) who ruled Afghanistan up until we kicked them out 2001. they have absolutely nothing to do with Iraq at all.

Perhaps you guys mean Al-Queda, which does operate inside Iraq (they just killed one of our Sunni Tribesmen allies in Anbar province this week).

The Taliban are in Afganistan and to my knowledge, are not in Iraq. But heck, who knows they may have crossed over into Iraq to get some trigger time. I do know that Iran are sending troops and equipment into Iraq.

yeah, the insurgents are starting to use Iranian Katyusha artillery rockets to suppliment their old mortar stocks. Katyushas basically are military bottlerockets, with about the same accuracy.

It just got worse for Blackwater. MUCH worse.

                            From CNN

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Federal prosecutors are investigating whether employees of the private security firm Blackwater USA illegally smuggled weapons into Iraq that may have been sold on the black market and ended up in the hands of a U.S.-designated terrorist organization, officials said Friday
                            Not good.

That would mean that Blackwater could be designated as a firm that aids terrorists, and all their assets seized.
