  • Why do guards act like this.

Why is it that guards constantly F*#K with us(my company)? There is one company in the Austin area *cough*Ranger Protection Agency*cough* That constantly (like at least twice a week) tries to covertly follow us they fail of course but they still try. They come onto our accounts and say they are with DPS and want to see permits just to mess with our guards. They cant possibly get any kind of in tell that they would not already know. I have found that there are a lot of people in the guard industry that become very disgruntled. anyone that has been in it longer than me know why?

      ???

Are you saying that these guys are coming on to you accounts and pretending to be DPS private Security Board investigators asking to see business related documents? Those Investigators are peace officers, if that's what they are doing it's a violation of the Occupations code relating to private security, if they are security commisio holders that can be stripped.

      here:

Sec. 1702.130. USE OF CERTAIN TITLES, UNIFORMS, INSIGNIA, OR IDENTIFICATIONS PROHIBITED. (a) A license holder, or an officer, director, partner, manager, or employee of a license holder, may not:
      (1) use a title, an insignia, or an identification card, wear a uniform, or make a statement with the intent to give an impression that the person is connected with the federal government, a state government, or a political subdivision of a state government; or
      (2) use a title, an insignia, or an identification card or wear a uniform containing the designation "police."
      (3) Subsection (a) does not prohibit a commissioned security officer employed by a political subdivision of this state from using a title, insignia, or identification card, wearing a uniform, or making a statement indicating the employment of that individual by the political subdivision.
      ---

Only a misdemeanor offense, but you lose the S/O commission with it. Depending on how they are doing it it could also be felony Impersonating a Public Servant, but the Austin DA is THE most liberal in Texas and might not go for that charge.

      Just FYI.

If they're impersonating Texas DPS, you might want to notify local PD, or DPS for that matter. "Ranger Protective Agency" I'm sure is easily confused for Texas Ranger. I bet their badges are similar to DPS Rangers and their uniforms are as similar as the law allows. I can't believe states allow security companies to use certain names. Here in MN, we have "Capital Enforcement" security and "Inner State Protection." When I worked part time at a gun shop here named Bill's, we had an idiot come in carrying a loaded handgun (which is prohibited, and posted on the front door) and when I questioned him as to weather he was a cop or not, he said he was "Capitol Police" and flashed his "Capital Enforcement" badge. Well, I knew better and he almost went to jail, but the manager didn't was to create a scene. I did come across one of his supervisors at a later date with a co-worker that new the sergeant and I guess he got fired the next day.

Yes we filed a complaint with DPS. I don't know what will be done about it though. They came up Identified them selfs as investigators out to check permits and then requested my guard to disarm.

Is this who you're talking about? Are blue lights for security legal in TX? In MN, they are only legal on government service vehicles wether it be city, county, or state.

              Here's the company link.

Blue lights for security in Texas? damn...

Anyhow, I cannot elieve these wannbe rangers (not properly puncuated out of respect for the real Rangers) come swooping down your guys and start acting like the law of the land. I have had idiots like this before, they are to busy trying to get other companies to go under because they feel they are in violation of some law or statute, that they are oblivious to the one(s) they are vioilating.

Should've told these psuedo-rangers to go pound sand, and do it now before you hook 'em for impersonating, trespass, and whatever else I can think of; maybe even intimidation if they are dumb enough to try and throw their weight weight around the issue and not allow you the freedom of movement, a la kidnapping.

Back to square one, if it's yours don't let the other guy run the show. You know he's a fraud, hold 'em to it. Don't let him boss you around.

Disarm, HAH!!! Kiss my big white round...

Ranger says they can provide services for family reunions.....Are they referring to the NY's 5 mob families?

Blue does not mean anything unless its used with red. YES that is them. Like I said we filed a complaint with DPS we shall see what comes of it.

God, I wish someone would come into my site and try that sort of thing...I might even note it in my daily log.

Off topic- there was some moron for another local contract (unarmed, minimum-wage guys) doing doughnuts in their company's car last night across the street from me. I almost got out of my chair to go watch, then thought better of it...I might've missed another "tastes great vs. less filling" thread in the off-topic section

Weird... no red and or blue combinations allowed down here, plenty of pimped car owners get 'pinched' by the locals for having those darn coloured LED lights mounted on their cars (you know those extra bling add-ons )

Other than all the other laws broken... would their (pecker head) conduct also breach US anti-trust laws too?

Cy-Fair I.S.D. security is allowed to run red and blues. They're unarmed security. The school district hires out Precint 4 constables for the po-po side of things.
