I thought Pinkerton was bought and absorbed by Securatas?

They were, and so was Wells Fargo Security. Securitas is a very well respected company. They have armed and unarmed positions and everything in between. I had an interview with them too.

        "... Very Well Respected?"

I suggest you to search for Securitas on these forums.

I work for Securitas. Have been doing so since July 2003 when Pinketon was absorbed by Securtias

Prior to that Pinkerton and I go back 35 years to June 1972. That is long time
to be married to the same partner

Do I have issues with them? Sure do
Do we have bums and bad apples? Yup

But I am not about to bite the hand
that has fed me for going on four decades.

I work with some {in my humble opinion}of the finest men and
women in the Security Guard industry.

The training I have received in the past, and it never ends, are taught
by gifted instructors. Most are CPP.

I have worked in branch offices from Houston, to Providence, to Boston.
As I write this my Branch Manager, H/R, and Field Supervisior are
the people most of us dream working for.

I have worked myself from up from a Security Guard to Account Manager, and
and perhaps Field Supervisior in the not too distant future

Securitas has been beaten up and kicked around on the Forum many times
And as mentioned above we have had some fools who have worked for us
Having been part of the recruiting team, I have had some who have
blind sided me, and turned out to be real zeros
But 90% of my fellow Sister and Brother Securitas Security Officers
are some one you would hire in a heart beat

Okay I'm done. Now time to beat me up!!

so pinkerton is Securtias? Didn't know that. What about goverment contracts? Pinkerton still has it's own website and it looks as though they handle goverment buildings only. And a few people I work with now say the same thing.

Basically this sounds to me like it took them that long to rotate through those ahead of you.

The local Securitas office isn't too bad. I know a couple of people that work there and they are relatively happy. But, like any contract outfit, more has to do with the site/account you are assigned to than anything else.

I worked full time and part time for 6 years with Sims Security, which was absorbed into the Securitas family. I heard a lot of horror stories in the 6 years I was there, but I was at a great account with a great group of guys so the majority of the stuff didn't apply to me. They had some accounts though that turned over guards weekly and had outrageous client expectations.

Securitas still runs Pinkerton as a seperate, less visable agency. A friend of mine runs the local Pinkerton office. They do government contracts as well as other short term, specialty assignments, not warm body stuff.

Securitas is a Swedish firm, and cannot hold sensitive government contracts which require US citizen owners. They have kept two firms "separate on paper" from Securitas AB, the primary company.

                        Pinkerton Security / Detective Agency
                        Wackenhut Government Services, Inc.

Wackenhut provides private law enforcement services to the federal government, and has gotten heat in the past at the national level for providing felons to US Army installations.

Wackenhut was dropped from the US Army account, and it was given to an Alaskan outfit. They, of course, immediately subbed it to Wackenhut. So, basically, Wackenhut is back at the gates even though they were kicked off the account for violating the contract.

Ever have an annoying relative you just couldn't get rid of? lol Only thing I've heard about Wackenhut is from a post I worked after they were ditched for breach of contract.

The last Wackenhut guy at this particular post (not attacking all WH guys here) would actually bring a pillow and sleeping bag and sleep his shift camped out in the breakroom overnight.

Well, I got offered a job with pinkerton and I must say I'm impressed already. Their training is on point, I'm doing a week long training program before I start my post on Monday. I'm getting almost $5.00 MORE an hour then my last company , and the guards as wells as the the office staff conduct themselves very professional.
Pinkerton government services is still pinkerton and securites is still securities but they did merge. Pinkerton still handles all goverment contracts. I have a very good first impression of the company and I'm looking forward to working my post.
