  • I got a new job.

I just got hired on at one of my local hospitals. I will start out at 10 bucks an hour doing nothing but escorts (boring as f***). After my probation period is over I will be working with the 5150's and the drunks. Any pointers? (already working on my PPCT review)

    Congrats!
Well, I have never worked a hospital but since you asked.......My suggestion is keep your mouth shut and your eyes and ears open during your probationary period! And good luck and learn lots!

    Be safe,

As Hank said, look listen & learn... it's quite interesting what you can learn off fellow employees when first starting out (both good & bad techniques)

Boring hey! Well you came to the right place. First thing I would do is find a patient that is having leg surgery and short sheet his bed while he's being operated on. Or if that's not entertaining enough I would lock the bathroom door in the room the they preform colonoscopies. Those should brighten up your shift.

I was working at a hospital.Best place for experience.Out there you find EVERYTHING1.Drunks,Psycho's,sick people with attitude.

                      Remember this advice.

In a hospital it's not the sick people who will cause you trouble. It's his friends in the waiting room who will.

I don't know. How many drunk/drugged people do you deal with at the same time? 2 of my hotels have 30 rooms per floor x 4 drunk students per room a lot of the weekends. Another thing, I have never seen a Hospital Security working without back-up. It is rare to find 2 security on duty in an hotel at the same time nowadays!
