  • Equipment that you could not work without?

OK, everyone gets to pick ONE piece of equipment they could not work without. Only one.

I pick a ballpoint pen, no guard should be without a pen.

Its not how we die that counts.....
Its not how we lived that counts....
all that matters is how we saved that one life that one time by being in the right place at the right time....

The most valuable thing I learned in my 3 years of Police Technology: "A short pencil is better than a long memory". So I agree with the pen as being the most important piece of equipment.

So I might as well say paper so you all have something to write on!

Laptop computer. If I didn't have one I think I would have gone crazy out of boredom......

                Smartphone PDA + 4-in-1 Stylus.

I have an endless supply of paper (the PDA), a phone (the PDA), a pen (4-in-1 is nice), company and client information (the PDA), silent communications (IM App on the PDA), and the ability to look LOTS of stuff up.

And, the stylus comes with the PDA, so its part of it, so its one item.

Good question! I am not sure. Corbier is right on though! I may have to take more time to consider answering. Would liscensing be considered a part of your equipment?

For a lot of us, the G IS required equipment. Sure as hell not working unarmed in Suitcase City.

                        the patrol car.

I work graves in a big shopping center with a few 24hr stores/restruants. the club fokes come over late and I have to patrol a back alley. The car keeps me protected if people are back there and want to fight the security guard. I can drive off and call the police.

Heck, you should work in an hotel, there are almost always an out of order room or two
