The most valuable thing I learned in my 3 years of Police Technology: "A short pencil is better than a long memory". So I agree with the pen as being the most important piece of equipment.I enforce rules and regulations, not laws.

I have an endless supply of paper (the PDA), a phone (the PDA), a pen (4-in-1 is nice), company and client information (the PDA), silent communications (IM App on the PDA), and the ability to look LOTS of stuff up.
And, the stylus comes with the PDA, so its part of it, so its one item.

the patrol car.
I work graves in a big shopping center with a few 24hr stores/restruants. the club fokes come over late and I have to patrol a back alley. The car keeps me protected if people are back there and want to fight the security guard. I can drive off and call the police.Comment
