Now this one is true also and a little shorter.or maybe not.

The officer in question was doing his building checks after hours and there was a public meeting going on in the main hall of the build,with TV reporters and new paper men and this happen ever Tuesday.

Now the officer would check the offices and make sure no one is in them,this one time he came across two men in the dark talking and he ask them to leave. One man told the guard to get lost.

The officer informed him he had to leave,which made the mad very upset,And the man informed him if he didn't leave them alone he was going to put a hit on the officer.

what would you do?


now for clues to help you ,the man in question was very powerful and could get a hit man to take this guard out with out thinking twice.

It really depends on what his post orders are.

If his post orders are to observe and report, he asked nicely, so he should leave the area and report it - THE FIRST TIME, not asking again. They didn't comply with the request, so he should not become confrontational and should tell whoever is in charge. If the person in charge doesn't care, then its no longer his problem.

Now, if his post orders are actually a little more towards protecting the facility, then he needs to excuse himself and call some backup. The "risk of a hit" is part of the job, honestly, when you start doing things that involve confrontation. So is the risk of being attacked, knifed, shot at, spit on, and a bunch of other things.

I'm sort of on the thinking first he should have hit the light switch usually on the left as you enter a room. Then informed the dastardly doers that they were not allowed in this area as it is off limits to ALL and that I will be most appreciative if they would take their meeting to another area. And oh yea fellows do you have any ID on you we have been having a lot of theft here lately and as a precaution I can tell the officers out in the hall that you guys are ok. My honest opinion of two guys alone in a dark room is that they are more than likely a couple of [Words Went Here. They were bad.] that just met on Craigs List. But that's just me being me.

Yes, if on an O+R site only, do as such, but since you have informed the male of the violation, then depart yourself, contact the authorities, and have him charged for trespassing and harrasment (if state law applies).

In my current position and assignment, I would radio a 10-33 (immediate assistance) to my 20, then advise the male subject one final time to leave or he would be arrested for trespassing. If he fails to follow the direction, the next one is to go ahead and turn around, place his hands atop his head and interlock his fingers, he is now being placed under arrest for criminal trespassing. Thus using defensive protocol, and assertain an arrest. By the time he gets violent, my backup should be arriving. In some cases where it is very appearant that my training and tools will not provide immediate safe and secure results, awaiting backup then conducting arrest.

1) The male is in a location not open to public entry or unauthroized use or presence.

2) Advising the subject of his violation and allowing him/her to correct it.
3) If advisement fails, advise a final warning with the stated consequences of his/her actions in failing to comply,

4) Which are grounds in most states that it is a criminal offense to fail to follow the advisement of responsible party of the property to depart.

Some may say that my response would be a little too "coppish" or "gun-ho", but the point to my action is not one of whose is top dog, or acting in any manner of such. An illegal action has taken place, and any person who would threaten a security person in doing their job, does not need to be on the premisis. Security are there for everyones safety, and by initiating the arrest yourself, may sometimes provide results that will indicate to others that by not following the safe directives of the "sole proprieter", will result in unpleasant or undesired consequences. This has a ripple effect for some time after, and people are less likely to act in such a manner at a later time.

It was a city building and not much in any way of post orders,just walk floors and make sure no one was in any of the offices. and if they are to escort them out. For a radio ,there was none and just the phone back where his desk was. The same place the meeting was.

The lights switch controlled all lights and was way back down the hall way so that was out of the question at the time.

But only thing he did was was inform the guy if he was going to get hit to make sure the dude didn't miss ,because if he did he be knocking at this guys door!
The guard found out later that this dude he kick out of his building could of paid a guy to hit him A paid hit, and certain city officials would look the other way.

But he is still alive and kicking ,so the bad guy I figured didn't want to waste money on a $6.00 guard

Just a question are these scenarios hypothetical or actual cases? Cause if they are actual then I would have approached it differently. First in my lifetime and being in charge of keeping a large Tech school abreast of all and new life safety requirements have never seen anything that has central lighting for any satellite rooms in one area. Although at FM Global the rooms that were dozens of cubicles did have one switch that covered the central area but the actual offices against the walls had locks and their own lighting controls. Secondly why was that entrance way not locked to keep folks out? Most Sos well know how heavy that ring of keys can get after a while. So many questions so little time. Of course if it is hypothetical then Il est ce qui est il. (It is what it is)
