I have never worked in such an environment. However, there are a few things
common to all security assignments. For example: if you have done personal
protection, you never reveal that clients name to anyone, out side of the case. If you deliver money to a business or bank, you never tell anyone how
much or when, get the point? There is a reason we refer to something as being secure.

Marshall as a Nuke Security guy you will hopefully understand that you are more than likely the best trained, one of the best paid and more than likely the best watched by the people that hired you. And the people that hired them. Not long ago a couple guys were fired for saying to much about their jobs in a forum. Unfortunately for you there is not much you or any other Nuke guy can tell about their jobs without giving away to much. More than anyone I would like to hear what you guys do, but for your own sake don't want to jeopardize your job.

All we are saying is be warned and reread your post for anything that may give a hint about your work location even your state before hitting submit. Now that being said tell us all that you can. I know I sound very dramatic but I would feel bad if you lost your income cause you didn't know.

PS: It's Ok to tell us if Homer Simpson works at your plant.

Yes, I work at a nuclear power reactor. And to all of those other posters I'm confused as to why you all jump the gun when all that was asked was a simple yes or no answer. Maybe you could put all of your training to use and be on the vigilant side rather than the attack side.

Yeah, I think all of this "MALL" Security might be getting to some of these guys. If you sucked face with a nuclear reactor all day you wouldn't think so much of this.

Better safe than sorry. A nuclear security officer shouldn't be taken aback by a reluctance of other security professionals to reveal that they work at a sensitive site. This forum, like most, is open to the general public and its members are not verified. Most of us determine a member's status by the content and quality of their posts. Once a reputation is established, we feel more comfortable discussing security details via PM and E-mail.

BTW: I like pepperoni & cheese pizza.

Yes there is, because if you can't have a normal conversation on what a person does for a living then the terrorist has won.

Believe it or not but there is life outside of the USA and my reason for posting a link to the Civil Nuclear Constabulary in the UK which detailed the duties of a Constable within that Police Force was to show that one can still have a normal conversation without contravening the Official Secrets Act.

And talking about Acts of Parliament in relation to this Topic; why don't we just apply the Commonsense Act?
