I make $10.50 per hour but I have EMT certification. The non-EMT SOs I work alongside only make $8.50 an hour. Yes I know it sucks but compare that to this regions largest private ambulance service, http://www.acadian.com/ where I interviewed and was offered a job as an EMT on an ambulance in Baton Rouge. I was going to be paid $7.15 an hour. I walked out of the interview and didn't look back.

I am in the middle. 11 so far make more than me, 10 make less. ($13) an hour. I am looking into other fields of security work. For those who make $16 an hour, what do you do?

What Amazed me about Louisiana is how bad the pay is just about everywhere I checked. We were thinking of moving out of Texas 5 or 6 years ago, and I always loved visiting the state. But when i started looking at police pay, I was generally shocked. I now the cost of living is lower, but damn.

Wow, 34 United States security officers responded so far and it looks as though most of us make around the $16 per hour mark.

I am now in corrections. That's the only reason for my wage. If I was still in campus security I would only be making about 12.00 an hour.

most officers around here make between $6.50 and $9.00 an hour. I currently am working at nearly $18.00 an hour, but it is security for the federal Government.

16.69 an hour plus 3.02 in health or welfare benefits. We will also receive a raise soon and they are working on shift differential pay.
