Curious as to what others reactions are. Yahoo, as usual, sticks to the sensational and avoids the details. I'm assuming he might have been roaming during non-class hours, which would make him harder to detect.
I think he was testing the lax security, just to see if he could get away with it (which he apparently did). This is where "smart" systems come in - I know the average school district couldn't afford it, but a system with the right analytics would have triggered an alert to whoever monitors the system.
