I don't know. I'm not a police officer and haven't received police training, so I'm not going to question the tactics of the police officer.

Three things seem obvious to me, she was out of shape and didn't appear to know how to fight in a job where sooner or later you're going to have to fight somebody. She wasn't expecting a fight and she wasn't prepared for a fight. In my opinion if she would fix those three things she could have overcome everything else.

I wish we had the whole story. My understanding from what I've heard and read was that she was patrolling down that dirt road and he was just sitting there and she thought it was odd so she stopped to check it out. So was the guy that backed her up her partner? Did he arrive on the scene at the same time that she did? If so why didn't they approach the car together?

In my town our cops are 1 to a car but I have noticed that every time they pull somebody over the first cop doesn't usually get out of his car until another cop shows up at the scene, at least at night. Now I have no way of knowing if this is policy but I've seen it happen way too many times for it to just be coincidence.

Another thing that I noticed around here the cop would have passed right by that truck and U-turned to come up from behind on him like you would in a normal traffic stop.

The scariest thing I do on any given night is approach a suspicious vehicle I don't do it if I have any other option. If I have to do it I make damn sure that I'm behind that person so that they would have to turn around to come at me. And that's even when all I'm going to do is tell them that this is private property and they have to leave.

I don't see what the coppett could have done much different. She had another officer on site as back up.

Whatever the issue was a cop is gonna have to approach driver's windows (because current police policy is all about sticking your face up almost inside a car's window hoping to sniff grass, because then the 4th Amend doesn't matter, etc).

Yeah, these cops are always crying about "muh Officer Safety above all else", but they as matter of policy will ALWAYS stick their head as far as they can up inside a traffic stop's car. No one else does that around strangers, or even people they know. Its just bad manners and aggressive behavior, not to mention PUTTING YOUR SELF NEEDLESSLY AT RISK. I wouldn't dream of doing it when handing out parking passes or checking badges, etc. You never know who just had a really bad day or is a nutjob, or has a pitbull lurking in the back, etc. Sheesh, if I'm doing something like that with General Public I'll wear long sleeves and gloves, and that is for my hands and forearms, not my naked THROAT.

So this happened in Illinois. Female cop approaches a suspicious vehicle from the front, stands in front of the window and basically gives a guy a perfect target while he pulls out a gun and shoots at her.

if you listen to the audio you can hear her begging him not to shoot her not to take her gun and at one point she even says look I'll just leave don't kill me.

somebody want to explain to me why this donut eater deserves more respect than your average security guard?
