  • DC Officer shooting

If the shooter in this case had been a civilian, that individual would be arrested and charged with violating Washington D.C.'s gun laws. The message is clear: Only the Police, in our Nations Capitol, can effectively defend their life and property from the thugs who roam freely without facing criminal charges.

The sensitivity to gun possession in DC is perhaps understandable, although it has not worked well, as you point out. I think I read that there are efforts underway to ease the law prohibiting CCW, at least somewhat.

Where the lawmakers got it wrong in DC was not requiring that members of Congress should all carry firearms (up to and including RPG's) and designating an official "dueling area" out back where the members could bang away at each other - not at 20 paces, but 2 paces because it's real important that they don't both miss and decide to work things out by trading pork-barrel spending bills with one another.

Soon, one would imagine, the House of Representatives would be reduced to the 3 or 4 dozen best (or quickest) shots, and the Senate to maybe 5 or 10, and compromise among these marksmen would be the only remaining alternative for settling disputes. With such a small Congress, there would be fewer bills introduced, and there wouldn't be so many committees. Also, debate would be limited to something less than 10 or 20 light-years as to whether the third word in section IV, paragraph (a), subparagraph (ii) of House Bill 395067 should be "must" or "shall". Lots less pork too, I'd imagine.

This way, maybe we'd see some improvement in their performance record. No one would miss the ones who lost their duels, I'm reasonably certain.

SecTrainer, when I read your posts, I'm not sure if I want to puke, or throw a poodle through a window!

Please, just respond like you have a pair, or stick a Fondue skewer down yer' throat. Either way, this experience will be much more pleasurable for all of us.

By the way, the committee for the removal of all byproduct relating to the results of nuclear fusion, and those that give-a-rats-A$$, is meeting over at pain-inthebutt-windbag.com. They're all asking for your limitless ability to go on and on about nothing. You're a celebrity over there.

My question is this: What does an off duty cop shooting someone have to do with anything? If it was a story about a (non-LE) private citizen doing that, then getting prosecuted for it, your post would make sense. But it's not (about anything to do with private citizens and gun contrrol), and it doesn't (make any sense).

Not intending any offense, but I'm sure there have to be better examples of what you're talking about.

Fair enough, BC, but in the future, I won't need to produce better examples of what I'm talking about. I have a solid grip on that.

My query, for you Black Ceaser: Since private citizens in DC are generally not allowed (permit holders range in the TEN's) to possess or carry handguns, is LE in the District more privileged than the average citizen to defend their life and property, simply because of title and position?

I may get a jaded response from you, being a true Rent-a-Cop and all. But, come on, even ya'll can see the big picture.

Jesus, It just dawned on me. You don't have a clue as to what I was commenting on! Do they have English classes at that School where you write parking tickets for?

Thanks for your constructive criticism and for making me aware that you were appointed to speak for "all of us". I'm sorry if the humor in my post escaped you.

So: We can do this two ways:

              1. I can clear my posts through you before I make them, which isn't very likely.

              2. You don't have to read my posts at all, and then you won't be hurling all over yourself and stinking up the house. This will probably make your mommy happy, not having to clean you up. And (here's the big bonus) you'll save your poodle for whatever other activities you might have planned for her. Good deal for you, mommy and the poodle...although I'm not sure about the poodle.

I will admit that you're right about one thing. I'll never - ever - have "a pair" like yours. So, you'll never have to worry about me fighting with you for the last brassiere on sale at Macy's. You can have it..and the matching panties too. Knock yourself out and buy two sets for all I care. I don't happen to need 'em.

So, try using the "ignore" function, as I'm going to do right now myself. Go to User CP in the menu, scroll down to the Buddy/Ignore List function and enter "SecTrainer" in the "ignore" list. I haven't the slightest interest in anyone reading my posts who doesn't want to read them, believe me.

Now, that's what I'm talking about, SecTrainer! This side of you, I can debate, I can respect (actually, respect might be too hasty), but it's a start. Stick up for what you believe in. Flame on, Ranger. Be quick about it, though. Some moderator is bound to capture my flag and tell me to go home!

And you ask me if my school teachs english courses? Yes, they do, along with the reading comprehension classes that might interest YOU lol.

YOU having a solid grasp on what YOU are talking about is unimportant unless YOU are your only audiance. But in speaking to other folks, it might help if you provide some info to back up your assertions 1st. Just some helpful advide to keep you from looking like less than intelligent....oh wait......

Believe it or not, I understood what you meant the 1st time. It would have had more impact as a simple statement (like for instance "DC gun restrictions suck") rather than the senseless "I'm jealous of the cops" rant you turn it in to....

BTW, I think overly restrictive gun laws are not the best way to go. None of that is the fault of DC Police, the fault lies with the "powers that be" (in DCs case, the district government and congress) and Politicians.

By the way, you're still a fake cop who cant get into the big show. Have you applied lately? For the real thing? I have those results if you're interested, or anyone else who has been fooled by your wannabe advice.

Having interfaced with several campus PDs, all of whom were very professional and did much more than writing parking tickets (including major campus crime investigations, protection for celebrities, concerts and other major events on campus, etc.), and who would also sometimes participate in our own special ops, emergency drills, etc. in the immediate vicinity of the campus, I can only assume that the comment about "writing tickets" was simple ignorance about campus police.
