When it comes to the corruptness of the police and politicians and the nonesense of over restrictive laws that only effect the law abiding citizens......
I think the cop wants to keep it for himself. It's a Walther PP .32 from WWII. My uncle took it off a German officer he captured during the war.
I've already sued a police department for refusing to return other property. Once I won, suddenly the property was "distroyed". It cost them several thousand dollars.
Burglaries, lost or stolen property, laptops with all of your personal info, gone but not forgotten. So much recovered stuff but no one to give it back to. What's a cop to do?
Around here, the police don't like returning anything they want for themselves back to the rightfull owners. If they want it, they will keep it.
Several yrs ago I had a pistol stolen fron me. The police recovered it from the person who I always suspected of stealing it 2 years ago. The case against him was resolved in September and I have been trying to recover it since then. I keep hearing I would get it back but I'm told by the officer that it "must be approved by his supervisor" and it would take a few days. That was 7 weeks ago and he refuses to return any of my calls now. The ADA of Milwaukee agrees that I should get it back but the officer hasn't even returned her calls either about it.
My next step is to go to the Chief. After that, a law suit will be filed.
This thing is run by a cop, and a lot of cops on RP and other forums are seeding the crap out of security forums with this URL. When you mention you're run by a cop, you get about 60,000 salesmen, all also cops.
Boston Police is pushing this using tri-folds distributed to businesses as part of crime prevention initatives. Since its run by a LEO, everyone is jumping on full swing.
Thanks for the background behind that. I get it now.
