Florida is 7-8 unarmed, 8-10 armed in mid florida. I know we're paying 10 unarmed, 12 armed. Of course, we're also operating in south Florida, where the chance of being shot at is higher.

    Here in my area:

About $8.00 per hour to start this is a green person just starting.

A person with a few years of security background and a Permanent Employee Registration Card can negotiate. That from my knowlege can get you a starting rate between $13.00 and $15.00 an hour.

These are for unarmed, never interested in armed at this time, so cant answer that one.

Well I know this sounds weird but I just thought it would be interesting to hear what the starting pay is for armed and unarmed guards in your area. Just so we can see how the pay changes state-to-state and country-to-country.

Armed here in Toronto Canada ranges from $12.00 to $23.00 from what I understand depending on the company.

Unarmed is about $9.00 to $10.00 per hour.
