Laurie Maber, 43, an ADT security guard in New Zealand received an award as New Zealand's top guard after saving a woman who was severely beaten from a Mongrel Mob associate who was holding her hostage. Police say she would have been killed if not for his intervention. The method through which this was accomplished was through the use of light from the vehicle into the suspect's eyes.
