    This is an advanced training opportunity for a select few participants during the first weekend of MARDI GRAS 2008, in New Orleans, Louisiana and the surrounding suburbs. Meet the challenge of actually advancing, planning and executing protective missions in the middle of the world s largest street event, Mardi Gras, New Orleans style.

    This will be a no-nonsense, hands-on, advanced training opportunity for the Personal Protection Specialist, law enforcement officer; military police and government agents, who want to truly receive a working knowledge of protection at large scale, world-class events.

    If you truly want to enhance your skills and performance, this is the real deal. It will be an interactive course, requiring full participation in training exercises and hands-on scenarios. Instructors will include: Randall V. Biglow, Sonny Burmaster, Anthony H. Christiana, Jr., Eugene Ferrara, John Musser and more instructors who have had hands on experience at major events from Olympic Games to political conventions and concerts tours.

    Defining Events
    Determining Potentially Hazardous/Non-Hazardous Events
    Pre-Advance Considerations for Special Events
    Detailed Field Advance Considerations
    Putting a Special Event Plan Together
    Execution of Protective Missions
    Security (Law Enforcement, Private, Volunteers) Liability
    Misbehavior Tolerance (Action, Reaction, Over-Reaction)
    Wrapping Up the Detail
    The Special Events Protection Training tuition fee is $495.00. This program will provide over 35 hours of training in three fast paced days. The program consists of a minimum of class room lecture, with a focus on the planning and execution of protective assignments during actual real-time events. There is No Simulation here, you will be front and center, during full-blown Mardi Gras Activities, making the plans and providing the protection to instructor/protectees. Can you handle it?

    Class will start Thursday at 9:00 am at the City of Gretna Police Department Training Academy, located at 200 Fifth St., Gretna, Louisiana. This state of the art training facility and command center will serve as the base of operations for this training program. Arrive in New Orleans as early as Wednesday, January 24, 2008 and stay until Monday, January 27, 2008, if you choose, FOR THE EXCEPTIONAL RATE of $69.00 PER NIGHT plus 11.75% tax, at the HOLIDAY INN NEW ORLEANS -WESTBANK. This rate is unheard of during MARDI GRAS. The best part, other than the training, SUNDAY IS A FREE DAY, CLASS IS OVER SATURDAY NIGHT!
